Katherine Edmunds

Katherine Edmunds began her ballet training at age 3 in Lusby, MD. She then studied at the San Pedro City Ballet in California for three years under the direction of Cynthia Bradley. After moving to Virginia in 2012, she began dancing at Virginia Ballet, and has danced with them ever since. She has performed in various productions with Virginia Ballet, including the roles of Clara and the Sugar Plum in VBC’s The Nutcracker, Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty, and a stepsister in Cinderella. She has also had the honor to perform twice with the United States Air Force Band at their holiday concert, as well as dance multiple times at the National Theatre in D.C.

She started assisting teachers with younger dancers in 2018, and in 2020 started teaching her own classes. She graduated from VBC in 2021 and has continued to teach. She received her B.S. in Environmental and Conservation Biology from George Mason University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy.
