Fantasy Ballet Camp

VBC’s Fantasy Ballet Camps are designed to capture the creative spirit of our younger dancers. The ballet-themed summer camps allow students ages 3-9 to explore movement in ballet and creativity with themed craft projects, dance games, mini classes, and exposure to the music of classical composers. Each session is structured to provide alternating movement and quiet activities and is unique in the theme and activities presented.

Enroll in AM, PM, or Full Day sessions for any of our camp weeks. Extended care spots are available for our Fantasy Ballet Campers before and after regular camp hours! Email our registrars at vbcinfo@vaballet.org for details about reserving this option for your dancer. Families provide lunch and snacks for their campers. Dancers may wear ballet attire or comfortable clothing with bare feet, socks, or ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun or pulled back away from the face and off the shoulders and secured or slicked back.

VBC Summer Fantasy Camp 2026: Movie Magic

Week 1: Alice in Wonderland
Alice’s whimsical adventures through topsy-turvy Wonderland will inspire children to fully immerse themselves in dance and creative movement. Accompanied by intriguing characters, such as the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat, the dancers will also delight in crafts and games designed to develop both skill and imagination!

Week 2: Wizard of Oz
Join us as we dance over the rainbow and down the yellow brick road! Your dancers will twirl through magical ballet lessons, craft dazzling Oz-inspired creations, and play movement games straight out of Emerald City. No ruby slippers required—just a love of dance and a little bit of courage, heart, and imagination!

Week 3: Toy Stories
When no one is watching, what do the toys do? They dance, of course! This week will include the stories of animated toys; dancers will spend time with old friends and also be introduced to dancing dolls from the classic ballet story Coppelia. Playful crafts and imaginative movement games will bring everything together to help bring favorite characters to life!

Week 4: Cinderella
Cinderella’s enchanting journey from rags to riches will inspire young dancers to move with grace and imagination. Guided by the magic of fairy godmothers and the sparkle of the royal ball, children will enjoy elegant ballet lessons, charming crafts, and delightful games that bring this timeless fairy tale to life—before the clock strikes midnight!

Week 5: Peter Pan
Fly away to Neverland with us! Dancers will soar through imaginative ballet lessons, craft magical creations inspired by pixie dust and pirates, and play adventurous movement games that never grow old. It’s a week of wonder, whimsy, and dancing dreams that truly take flight!

Week 6: Mary Poppins
Enjoy a jolly holiday of dancing, creativity, and fun! Spend the week exploring the story of your favorite British nanny as she pops in and out of adventures while also developing practically perfect dance skills. And there are whimsical craft projects and fun, skill-building movement games besides—can you imagine that?

Week 7: Heroes & Superheroes
Accompany your favorite heroes and superheroes on this exciting week of dancing, crafting, and fun! Not only will your dancer be inspired by super-strength, powerful poses, and incredible flights of fancy, but they will also go up, up, up to golden heights with their newest heroes and even learn about real-life superstars from the dance world!

Week 8: Nutcracker Party (Act 1)
You’re invited to the biggest party of the season, but don’t be surprised if a mouse army also makes an appearance! Stepping into the first act of the famous Nutcracker ballet, dancers will waltz with Clara and her guests, make festive crafts, and play imaginative games inspired by toy soldiers, dancing dolls, and swirling snowflakes. It’s a celebration of movement, music, and a touch of Christmas magic!
